United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI), the primary distributor for Whole Foods and a major U.S. health food wholesaler, has taken some systems offline following a major cyberattack discovered on June 5. The company reported unauthorized activity in its IT systems, leading to temporary disruptions in operations. UNFI is investigating the breach, working with law enforcement, and trying to restore systems. Some Whole Foods customers reported empty shelves and smaller deliveries. UNFI has assured it’s working with partners to reduce the impact. Its stock dropped over 9% after the news.
