Washington Post says it is among victims of cyber breach tied to Oracle software

The Washington Post announced that it was one of the victims of a widespread cyberattack connected to vulnerabilities in Oracle’s E-Business Suite software. The news follows a claim by the CL0P ransomware gang, which listed the Washington Post among its breached targets.

The company provided no additional details, but Oracle previously issued security advisories related to the exploited vulnerability. CL0P is known for publicly naming victims to pressure them into paying ransoms.

The breach is part of a broader campaign in which hackers targeted Oracle’s E-Business Suite, used by organizations worldwide to manage critical operations such as logistics, customer and supplier management, and financial processes. Google estimated that more than 100 companies may have been affected in this wave of intrusions.
